Authentic Storytelling
This article has a few examples of authentic storytelling videos filmed for businesses and charities across Scotland.
We produce all kinds of promotional films, with every project different. The starting point is always to find the focus and what you want the viewer to take away having watched it. Sometimes it could be a call to action, but usually, it's a perception. Video is a great tool to represent what a business/brand does, what it stands for and what makes it unique and relevant.
The overall test is that the core message cuts through and resonates with the viewer very quickly. The fun then is to find creative and impactful ways to get the message across within a concise space of time.
Sailingfast UK
For Falkirk business Sailingfast UK we produced what we described as an ‘About Us’ page as a video. Watch the video above, which was shot on a cold Saturday in December on the Clyde! This really captured the essence of the business and introduced the couple who own it in a very authentic and personal style.
Lantra Scotland
Over the years, we have produced a series of films promoting rural careers in Scotland. These have successfully encouraged young people to apply for jobs they previously hadn't considered.
These films each follow a 'day in a life' of a person working in a different rural job. We have featured aquaculture, trees and timber, game and wildlife, river management, conservation and more. The stories are always personal and open up a world to viewers allowing them to imagine working in that industry.
West Highland Way
The management team for the West Highland Way gave us an exciting but challenging brief. We had to produce a short film that celebrated the 40th anniversary of the long-distance trail representing all of its 96-mile route.
You can see the result above, a trip along the trail to meet the people and landscapes that make it so special.
James D. Bilsland Fuels
When Stirlingshire fuels company James D. Bilsland asked us to produce a short film about their business, they asked it to 'not be corporate'. It was evident that many of their drivers were characters and the public-facing part of the successful family business. Therefore we followed one of them on a typical day of deliveries.
Celebrating Park People
Finally, the above example is one of nine longer films that profiled different people living and working in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Commissioned by Friends of Loch Lomond, the series was sold as a DVD collection by the heritage and conservation charity.
Let me know if you would like to get an authentic storytelling video produced for your business.
